The Eiffel Tower is the most recognized architectural structure in the world, and definitely among the most photographed. How can it be interpreted anew? Richard Johnson explores that idea with nine unique portraits of La Dame de Fer, shot at different times of day during Paris Fashion Week. Each image slides beyond the bounds of framing a single object and into a new, illusionistic space where reflections and refractions toss the steel tower around like a deck of cards. Yet the viewer’s eye is also busy, bouncing across each image, and shuffling the abstract puzzle back into its logical order.
